5. Disputes and Dispute Fees

a. As the merchant and provider of services, you are responsible for client chargebacks on payments processed via SlickPay. A chargeback is when a client contacts their bank or card provider to dispute a payment and request a refund. The dispute is passed by Stripe to Slick and we will notify you of the dispute within 72 hours of initial receipt.

b. Slick bears no responsibility for resolution of the dispute. It is recommended by Stripe that the merchant seek to resolve the dispute directly with the client and in doing so, ask the client to withdraw the dispute via their bank or card provider. In the event you are successful and the client withdraws the dispute, the payment will not be refunded and you will not incur any additional fees.

c. If you are unable to resolve the dispute directly with the client and would like to counter the dispute, please contact our support team who can instruct you on the process which can be seen here

d. Slick bears no responsibility for the evidence submitted in any counter. Failure to resolve the dispute directly with your client or submit evidence for a counter within 7 days of being notified by Slick will result in the dispute being lost, ie accepted in the client’s favour.

e. When a dispute is lost, the full amount is automatically refunded to the client and this amount will be withdrawn from your Stripe account. In addition, Stripe charge a £15 dispute processing fee which will also be withdrawn from your Stripe account. In the event that your Stripe balance does not have sufficient funds, Stripe will automatically initiate a withdrawal from your bank account to cover the full cost of the refund and dispute fee.
